Support worker required for a young girl with complex healthcare needs. They are looking for someone who is caring and has a willingness to make a difference. 30 hours p/week available.

Personal Health Budget – Support Worker Needed for a Young Girl and Her Family

We are looking for a compassionate, reliable and imaginative Support Worker to join the family of a young girl who has complex health and care needs. She is non-verbal and non-mobile, and requires support with all aspects of her daily care. Her family would love to welcome someone who can bring warmth, creativity and calm to their busy household.

About the role
You will support this lovely young girl with:

  • Personal care, including nappy changes
  • Medication administration (training provided)
  • Feeding
  • Suctioning when required (training provided)
  • Bedtime routines
  • Gentle activities that encourage her development, such as stretches or sensory play
  • Taking her out in her wheelchair for walks or fresh air

On days when she is struggling, you may also be asked to help with her siblings so that parents can focus on her care.

Hours

  • Average of 30 hours per week, ideally:
    • Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday & Friday: 15:00–20:00
  • Occasional weekend daytime hours and additional hours in school holidays may be needed (agreed in advance).
  • Some flexibility is essential to meet the child’s needs.

  • Bubbly and creative, able to engage her with gentle, stimulating activities
  • Comfortable working in a lively family environment
  • Willing to learn new skills with full training provided

Experience with PEG feeding, suctioning or mobility challenges is helpful but not essential, as full clinical and moving & handling training will be given.
