Support Worker (Child) Carlisle

We are recruiting dedicated and reliable Personal Assistants for a 9 year old boy with Autism and a severe learning disability to work on a 2:1 basis.
There are 4 hours per week available during term time, and 8 hours per week available during school holidays. Hours may not be worked every week, to allow longer shifts to be worked on other weeks. Further details of times and days can be discussed with the family at the next stage of the application process. Hours can be flexible for the right candidates. There may be more hours available in the future if the support is successful.
Support is required so our client can go for a walk/to the park and spend time outside of his home. He also enjoys swimming and trampolining.
The ideal candidate will have experience, or a good understanding of, children with Autism and the challenges it can present. An energetic, bubbly person who can bring out the best in this young boy.
He uses a wheelchair when outside the home, so Moving & Handling Training is required for this role. Full training will be provided if not already trained.
Full UK Driving licence and a car that could transport a wheelchair would be beneficial, but not essential.
The successful candidate must be willing to complete an Enhanced DBS check (fully funded by the Employer). Applicants who have a current DBS on the update service would be an advantage.
