Schools and colleges across Cumbria are planning for the return of children and young people in September. For some this may be a time of excitement, for others concern. For all of us, it’s a time of adjustment. To hear your views – to find out the things you need us to focus on – People First and Cumbria’s Local Authority have launched two surveys.

One for children and young people, and one for parents and carers, the surveys are quick and easy to complete. They explore topics including:

  • What are your worries and anxieties?
  • What do you need to know before you return to school?
  • Are you worried about the transition?
  • Are you anxious about using school transport?
  • Are you apprehensive about meeting your friends again?

We want to hear your views, to help us address your concerns and act upon your advice.

Each survey will run for several weeks; during this time it is important that we collect the views of as many people as possible.People First will then collate all responses and produce a report.  This report will go to local Primary and Secondary School Head Teachers and the Local Authority and will provide a clear indication of areas that we need to focus on and get right for all our families, children and young people in Cumbria.

We are looking forward to reading your responses and using them to make a difference in Cumbria.
