People First is working with the Cumbria SEND Improvement Board (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities)  to support an intensive programme of engagement in a bid to improve SEND Services across the county.

An important part of the SEND improvement process comes through the involvement of community members as Reps within the groups working on this project. We are looking to find new Reps to participate in this work.

Would you like to be a Rep on one of the SEND Improvement Working Groups? These groups have been put in place to support the SEND Improvement process. You will be a key member of the group; your views will help to shape discussion and improvements.

We’re looking to have four Reps on each group; working as a team, covering meetings for each other. Two will be lead Reps and two will be deputies. Travel expenses can be claimed.

If you’re interested you should be able to attend all, or most, of the meetings either in person or via video link and also the Reference Group meetings which act as a place to share Rep experiences and information, and receive support and views from other community members. Click here to see the key upcoming dates of the Working Groups to provide further information.
