Eden Community Forum

This is a chance for third sector groups and health and social care organisations to share and hear about the latest developments, and network.

We have a packed agenda this Friday (November 24th).

We will be welcoming Karen Dutton from Let’s Talk Bereavement on the support and training they can provide for staff and volunteers working in organisations and community groups.

Hannah Turner from Westmorland and Furness Council will speak about the work the authority is doing to support those who want to set up as home carers for older people.

Helena Gregory from North East North Cumbria Integrated Care Board (NENC ICB) will talk about a new pain management initiative for those living in pain. It’s also the chance to look at NENC ICB’s latest communication campaigns which focus on painkillers, use of inhalers, antibiotics and their effectiveness.

Public Health Manager Cathryn Beckett and Health and Wellbeing Officer Lianne Parrett of Westmorland and Furness Council will provide an update on the great work of Eden Dementia Friendly Community Partnership.

Our own Engagement Officer, Ollie Flitcroft, will outline the Healthwatch Westmorland and Furness flagship Disability Voices report and recommendations, which we showcased at our launch event last month. He will also provide an overview of our recent ‘I want it that way’ project on access to GP surgeries, dentists and pharmacies.

There’s always a lively discussion at our forums. It would be great to see you there!
