Two years since our last appearance, this January, the People First team were excited to take part in 2022’s Carlisle Skills Fair.
Established by John Stevenson MP, the Carlisle Skills Fair takes place each year to showcase opportunities for Cumbrians. Bringing together many local employers, the event is a go to occasion for those thinking about getting into the world of work, looking for training opportunities and for those looking for a change, as well as a chance to discover local volunteering opportunities.
Jam-packed with businesses from across Carlisle and Cumbria, our team were eager and ready to chat with people from all stages of life about the opportunities People First has to offer.
From volunteering, to courses at our Centre for Learning including the Hospitality Academy. From Youth Projects, to the People First Cafe. Staff from across People First's teams connected with hundreds of people to share information, spread the word and get people involved in our work.
This included showcasing the diverse mix of activities available through our youth projects as well as a glimpse into the life of a People First Hospitality Academy learner.
