Holiday Entitlement: 20 days (FTE) plus bank holidays, Christmas closure, length of service increments. Additional 1 day leave entitlement for your birthday

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Inclusion Manager to lead, deliver, and develop, a range of innovative, inclusive, and co-productive projects, involving people with a learning disability and autistic people across all age groups.

Purpose of job

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Inclusion Manager to lead, deliver, and develop, a range of innovative, inclusive, and co-productive projects, involving people with a learning disability and autistic people across all age groups.

Projects currently include:

  • Adult Self and Peer Advocacy Networks
  • Youth and Community Projects
  • Training, including Oliver McGowan Learning Disability & Autism training
  • Care (Education) and Treatment Reviews
  • LeDeR Confirm & Challenge
  • Easy Read Service
  • Inclusive Research.


Responsibilities will include:

Leadership and Management

  • Effective leadership of operational delivery in line with organisational values and mission.
  • Supervision and support to team members, coordinating team meetings, learning opportunities, training, development, and wellbeing sessions.
  • Provision of support and opportunities to experts by experience and volunteers
  • Project and budget management in line with organisational policy, procedure and contractual requirements
  • Change management given the diverse range and nature of projects undertaken.


Delivery and Performance

  • Occasional direct delivery across all Inclusion Team projects to assure quality and develop/embed innovative and new working practices
  • Creative and analytical problem solving to ensure delivery of outcomes
  • Development of clear, accessible communication routes both internally and externally
  • Collaboration, both internally and externally, on the delivery and development of projects
  • Implementation of data gathering and quality assurance measures, providing relevant reports to People First Senior Leadership Team and external commissioners.

Growth and Development

  • Network at and contribute to, a range of local, regional, and national forums
  • Identify and nurture effective relationships with stakeholders as a senior lead within the organisation
  • Promote projects undertaken by the Inclusion Team and capture opportunities to further enhance these.
  • Identify and apply for new project work and funding routes.
  • Deliver presentations, both formally and informally across the geographical footprint.

Additional information:

  • Occasional evening or weekend work may be required
  • A full UK driving License and access to own transport is required due to the travel needed to support the Inclusion Team with meeting project delivery
  • Appropriate work base will be negotiated with the successful candidate
  • Enhanced DBS and references will be sought as part of our safer recruitment practice.

Person specification:

Essential:

  • Experience of working with people with a learning disability and autistic people
  • Knowledge and understanding of relevant local, regional, and national health and social care services/systems, health and social care policy and the education system
  • Experience of successful project and budget management outcomes
  • Application of a range of leadership skills
  • Experience of support, supervision, and development of a diverse staff team
  • Experience of design and implementation of quality monitoring and data gathering systems
  • Excellent organisational skills, management of a complex workload and ability to meet competing deadlines
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including production of Easy Read information, formal reports/proposals, and contract quality monitoring requirements
  • Good all-round level of education and IT literacy
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced dynamic environment; manage change, solution focused and take initiative
  • Experience of establishing strong working relationships both internally and externally.

Desirable:

  • Management qualification (L5) or equivalent, or willing to work towards this.
