We are currently recruiting for a Personal Assistant to support a 16-year-old girl living in Carlisle, who is Autistic with Demand Avoidant Profile (PDA) and Epilepsy.

Our client loves music (Taylor Swift, The Vamps and Faouzia are especially in favour at the moment!), TV shows/movies, art and crafts, baking and riding a bike around Watchtree. She has also expressed an interest in joining the local gym. The client's family (with the assistance and support of the Personal Assistant) would love to expand the client's activities as and when possible.

Support will include (but not limited to):

  • Support with Activities (as above)
  • Assistance with Social Activities
  • Supporting the client to learn new and develop existing skills including social skills.

Desired Personal Assistant Requirements

  • Knowledge, Understanding and/or Experience of Autism and PDA
  • Basic First Aid
  • Enthusiastic, Proactive, Friendly, Reliable and Flexible
  • Adaptable to the changing needs of the client
  • Full Driving License and access to a vehicle

This post requires the successful candidate to either have a transferrable Enhanced DBS or willing to complete a new application (costs of obtaining this will be covered by the employer).

Working hours are flexible to accommodate the client’s needs. Hours will range from 3-4hrs per week in term time and 4-5hrs in school holidays. An average of 5hrs p/week is available.
