We are currently recruiting a Personal Assistant/ Support worker to support a non-verbal 5 year-old boy from Maryport, who has a diagnosis of Autism and Global Development Delay.

We are currently recruiting a Personal Assistant/ Support worker to support a non-verbal 5 year-old boy from Maryport, who has a diagnosis of Autism and Global Development Delay.

The ideal candidate is expected to build a trusting relationship with the boy and encourage the boy with his independence and daily tasks, such as personal care, as he currently needs full support and encouragement with this.

The role will involve supporting the boy in his home environment and out in the local community in addition to a variety of keen interests and activities including (but not limited to):

· Swimming

· Exploring the outdoors

· Climbing

The boy can sometimes have episodes of challenging behaviour, so the ideal candidate would need to be patient and understanding of this to help to keep they boy calm.

The boy wears a wrist harness when outdoors, due to him being a flight risk.

Experience working with and understanding children living with disabilities is essential for this role.

Candidates must also hold a full driving licence and have access to their own vehicle with adequate business insurance.
