Personal Assistant (Child), Cockermouth
We are currently recruiting for a Personal Assistant/ Support worker to support a 11 year-old boy from the Cockermouth area who has a diagnosis of Autism and can be very anxious.
The boy is verbal and able but requires encouragement and prompting with daily task.
The role will involve supporting the boy in his home environment and out in the local community in addition to a variety of keen interests and activities including (but not limited to):
· Going to the cinema
· Crafty workshops
· Visiting museums
· Visiting the Puzzle Place
The young boy likes to take charge around chosen activities, therefore the ideal candidate for the role will need patience and the ability to deal with any challenging situations in a calm and respectful manner and be able to build a relationship and trust with the boy.
Experience working with and understanding children living with disabilities is essential for this role.
Candidates must also hold a full driving licence and have access to their own vehicle with adequate business insurance. This is due to the young boy having hypermobility, causing him to struggle with his mobility.

There are 4 hours per week available at the rate of £11.44 p/hour during term time
And 6 hours per week available at the rate of £11.44 p/hour during school holidays.
