Personal Assistant/Carer (Child) Carlisle
Advertised on behalf of a family:
We are recruiting reliable and dedicated support workers to work on a 2:1 basis with a 13-year-old boy with Autism who is living in the Carlisle area.
The purpose of this role is to provide support in the community to help him stay safe, happy and behaviourally settled and engaged as well as increasing his social experience and skill set.
The shifts will begin in the home, shadowing current staff and parents, then once a good connection has been established, you will support with activities outside the home.
The successful candidates will be expected to support with activities such as:
· Going for walks and to play areas
· Trampolining
· Cinema
· Going for a drive
The support will mainly be delivered on a Saturday and Sunday for 3.5 hours each day. We are looking to build a small team of staff so that every weekend is covered. Applicants with the availability to work every weekend would be desirable, however a rota will be created to ensure work/life balance is maintained. For the right candidates, options of alternate weekends/one in three will be considered.
There are contracted hours available, as well as Bank/Zero Hour contracts to cover holidays etc when needed. Further details of shifts required will be discussed at the next stage of the application process.
We are looking to build consistency into this young man's life and for him to develop good working relationships with his support workers. Experience of supporting someone with Autism / behaviour of distress is strongly desired.
The successful candidate must be willing to complete an Enhanced DBS check (fully funded by the Employer). Applicants who have a current DBS on the update service would be an advantage.
Activity and travel costs will be covered by the employer.
Full UK Driving license required.
Pay: £14.70 per hour
