Salary: £12.36 per hour

Support required for a young man with a high level spinal cord injury. Average of 16 hours p/week available on a rolling rota. The role will include all personal care, help with food prep drinks and feeding, cleaning and tidying, hoisting in and out of the wheelchair, basic physio etc.

The role of this job is to assist a young man with a high level spinal cord injury to do all normal daily tasks within the family home. This will include all personal care, help with food prep drinks and feeding, cleaning and tidying, hoisting in and out of the wheelchair, basic physio etc.

You will work independently as a member of an experienced and competent team. You will receive full support during induction from me and my team, during which you will receive full training in all aspects of my care needs and other duties.

Driving licence with use of own car to get to and from work would be an advantage, although there is a regular bus service to and from Embleton.

The Hours

Contracted to an average 16 hours per week and you will receive 5.6 weeks paid leave (pro-rata). There will be opportunity for a few additional hours if you choose to work a short evening shift.

The current rota in place rotates every 3 weeks and you would work -

Week 1 is Mon & Wed 8-4

Week 2 is Tues & Thurs 8-4

Week 3 is Sat & Sun 8-4

The ideal candidate will be flexible and able to cover extra shifts across the 7 days to support as needed to cover for annual leave and sickness.

The successful applicant will be subject to a DBS check and clearance which will be paid for by the employer.
