We are thrilled to announce a new exciting partnership with DAD (Darlington Association on Disability) and Disability North, and funded by Skills for Care, to provide fully funded training sessions for Personal Care Assistants and those that employ Personal Care Assistants.
Skill for Care is a workforce development and planning body for adult social care in England. They work with employers, Government and partners to ensure social care has the right people, skills and support required to deliver the highest quality care and support now and in the future.
DAD (Darlington Association on Disability) is a user led organisation run by and controlled by disabled people. They give people choice and control over how their support needs are met.
Disability North is a center for Independent Living which delivers support services across the Northeast. They support disabled and older people across the region, with a focus on Newcastle upon Tyne, as the area holds the highest proportion of disabled people.
With an increasing demand for compassionate, high-quality personal care, well-trained assistants are critical to ensure the well-being and dignity of people who need support in their daily lives.
Our training courses to launch the project are:
- First Aid at Work
- Safeguarding
- Understanding Autism

You can also access Care Skills credits to attend online courses in Health and Safety, person-centered care and medication training.
