Welcome to the Healthwatch Lancashire monthly newsletter.
We have had a busy month at Healthwatch Lancashire, from events to new projects. Here is everything we have been up to in September!
You Said, So We Did
We recently visited several groups in Spring for our 'Who Can Help Me' project.
During this piece of work, we heard stories from carers about their experiences and signposted them to local support agencies that can help them.
In September, Engagement Team Leader Steve visited some of the groups again as part of our Disability Voices project.
Steve gave feedback on the outcome of the 'Who Can Help Me' report by sharing it with members of the groups and hearing more about their experiences to provide further advice and signposting.
This follow-up was greatly appreciated as it allowed for a wider conversation about the outcome of the project and allowed us to see how our guidance and signposting had helped.
As a result of these discussions, members of the group told us they had been able to apply for additional support with finances and get support from local service providers as a result of the discussions held.
Others remarked about how the findings of the project report would help people in future.
Our Latest Project
'Talk to Us - Women's Health' aims to gather information from women about their health priorities and concerns and about your experiences using women's health care services in Lancashire📍

Our Visit to ISSA Medical Practice
Recently, Healthwatch Lancashire attended a group in Preston to discuss local experiences of health and social care services, where we heard about ISSA Medical Practice.
Concerns were raised about difficulties in making appointments, diabetic care, communication issues, and language barriers.
Our team had a follow-up meeting on 14th June with the Practice Manager and Operations Manager to address these concerns.
The Practice emphasised its commitment to patient-centred care, addressing concerns swiftly to ensure every patient feels heard.
