Cumberland Connectors

As a Citizen Connector you'll be a trusted friend to those in our community who need connection and support. Your role will help individuals feel heard, respected and empowered by:

• Building friendships 
• Providing information 
• Ensuring unbiased support 
• Empower by sharing information 
• Promote independent advocacy 

You will join a team of dedicated advocates standing up for individuals rights and ensure their voices are heard. 

You will provide a vital support to our advocates in several impactful ways:

• Writing up notes
• Scheduling appointments
• Assist in the completion of risk assessments
• Making calls 
• Connecting with community members
• Offer a supportive ear and share essential information.

You will be the friendly voice on the other end of the line, offering information, emotional support and assistance to our callers. 

This helps by:

• Sharing information clearly and empathetically
• Actively listening, providing emotional support that our callers need
• Signpost any calls to the correct help
• Gather customer feedback

You will help families help themselves. 

This helps by :

• Connecting families with shared experiences to foster support and understanding.
• Helping families navigate and understand the local health and social care system.
• Empowering families to advocate for their loved ones, ensuring their voices are heard and needs are met.
