Women's Health, Walking Football and More!⚽
This month we have been engaging with our community and looking to the future of Healthwatch Lancashire!
With your help, we are now on the way to finalising our 2025/26 project work plan! We also had time to squeeze in some football fun along the way!⚽

Our Engagement: Walking Football Event⚽
Walking Football is an event that takes place on Wednesday mornings at Pendle Leisure Centre. Adrian Lamb who leads the activity explained that the main objective of the session was to make people laugh and smile; “This is a light-hearted activity and not competitive ……”
Many success stories come from attending the Walking Football group including one gentleman who when he first started coming to the group, was very anxious and quiet. He has since grown in confidence and has been successful in securing employment.

Our 2025/26 Projects📑
Last month we asked you to have your say and vote for which research projects Healthwatch Lancashire should conduct in the next year.
We are so grateful for all of you taking the time to read our project descriptions and share your thoughts.
We are currently in the process of reviewing the data from this survey and planning our 2025/26 work plan.

Women's Health Phase 2🏥
Our recent Women's Health project discovered 3 key themes that women had concerns about regarding their health. These themes were Gynaecological Health, Menopause and Mental Health.
We have been talking to women across Lancashire and asking them to share their experiences and now we are hoping to compile these into a video featuring experts and women with personal stories.
If you would be interested in getting involved, please email
[email protected] and we will aim to set up a time to meet and talk about your experiences for our video.

You Said, So We Did💪
You may remember last year we conducted a research project called Waiting for Wellness, which aimed to understand the mental health challenges facing children and young people (CYP).
During this project, we discovered that many CYP were unaware of where to seek support and faced long waiting times to access services, while neurodivergent people often struggle to get the help they need.
So, we teamed up with the NSPCC to work on a campaign called Action for Wellness and hosted a Mental Health and Wellbeing Day designed to highlight organisations that can support CYP and parents.

Maternity: Personalised Care and Support Planning (PCSP)
We are currently supporting the Lancashire and South Cumbria Integrated Care Board by promoting a Personalised Care and Support Planning survey based on maternity experiences in Lancashire. This survey will allow hospital trusts like Lancashire (including East), Blackpool and Morecambe Bay to understand the views of women across Lancashire and make vital changes to care and support to improve their maternity experience.
