We are aware of recent concerns following communication about changes to Autism (ASD) and ADHD assessment pathways provided by Lancashire and South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust.
The initial announcement indicated that some assessment pathways were being paused due to capacity pressures. This understandably caused significant concern for families and young people currently waiting for assessment.
Following urgent discussions between the Trust and the local Integrated Care Board (ICB), further clarification has now been provided.
What we understand at this stage
· Children and young people who already have a confirmed first appointment date will still be seen by the Trust.
· Those partway through the assessment process will continue their assessment.
· Children who have been accepted onto the waiting list will remain on the waiting list.
· Waiting lists are expected to transfer to a newly commissioned provider once arrangements are in place.
· Right to Choose remains unaffected.
We understand that waiting times and next steps are still being clarified, and we recognise this uncertainty may be distressing for families.

We want to hear from you
Behind every waiting list number is a child or young person and a family who may have already been waiting a long time.
If you or your child is affected by these changes, we would like to hear about your experience.
· Were you informed clearly about what this means for you?
· Do you understand what will happen next?
· How has this affected you or your family?
· What support do you need right now?
