Salary: £20.60 per hour. Travel expenses will be covered
Work Hours: 10-15 working hours per week pro-rata. The role initially will be to the end of March 2026 but could extend beyond this date.

Maternity and Neonatal Voices Partnerships (MNVPs) are independently led NHS working groups made up of women, birthing people, and their families as well as community groups, supporting organisations and members of the public. These groups work collaboratively with the Local Maternity and Neonatal System (LMNS) to review local services, listen to the voices of the community, co-produce the design and implementation of services, and support the LMNS to provide quality assurance and surveillance across maternity services.

These groups work collaboratively with the Local Maternity and Neonatal System (LMNS) to review local services, listen to the voices of the community, co-produce the design and implementation of services, and support the LMNS to provide quality assurance and surveillance across maternity services.

This is an exciting opportunity for a driven and enthusiastic individual to cover maternity leave for the lead of the Preston, Chorley & South Ribble Maternity and Neonatal Voices Partnership, in which you will be the main contact for all enquiries. This role involves both strategic level responsibility and engagement with people using maternity services.

Responsibilities

  • Attend and chair quarterly formal MNVP meetings- with support from admin, you will prepare the agenda and papers and ensure that these are sent prior to the meetings.
  • Attend LMNS board meetings.
  • Ensure that stakeholders and people using the services can contribute to the meetings and promote co- production in discussions about services to drive improvement for all.
  • Continue to progress the workplan and strategic objectives developed by the current lead, working in partnership with the trust.
  • Write and distribute an annual report to MNVP members and relevant stakeholder organisations.
  • Organise and attend service user engagement to create regular opportunities for women to share their experiences in a safe space and establish links with existing
  • groups. And actively encourage/recruit seldom heard voices to be involved in the MNVP.
  • Record and collate service user feedback and provide a monthly report to the LMNS and trust.
  • Establish independent relationships with local and regional MNVPS, NHS groups and NHSE leadership to share best practice and access current information.
  • Represent the MNVP at external meetings including regional and national maternity meetings, trust meetings, steering groups, maternity system meetings.

Person specification

  • Able to work flexibly- there is an expectation that you will regularly check and reply to emails in relation to the Maternity and Neonatal Voices Partnership throughout the week and attend regular meetings.
  • Strong leadership skills and experience of leading meetings and ensuring everyone’s voice is heard.
  • Lived experience of maternity and/or neonatal services.
  • Able to use feedback, data and case studies as evidence for change.
  • Commitment to equality and diversity with capacity to work with a diverse range of people.
  • Able to prioritise workload and work flexibly to respond to any changes within maternity services.
  • Knowledge of GDPR regulations
  • Good listening skills and ability to record people’s experiences to use as evidence.
  • Respect confidentiality when required.
  • Have, or be willing to obtain, an up-to-date Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS)check
