The Role:

The family of a well-mannered, happy 8-year-old boy with Autism, Pathological Demand Avoidance, sensory processing disorder and severe developmental delay are looking for a patient, well mannered, flexible, energetic and positive individual to support him with his needs.

He has very complex needs and some behavioural challenges. He needs help with understanding some language and co regulation, also occasional toileting assistance.

He needs a lot of encouragement to focus on tasks and guidance in social situations and understanding boundaries.

Hours:

Initially, the hours will be for 2 hours on two evenings per week. This would be to provide support at youth groups or just take him to the park and McDonald’s etc.

If this support is successful, there will be opportunities for occasional overnight stays for extracurricular activities. These may fall on a weekend as he is attending Beaver Scouts club which he needs support for.

Requirements:

Full UK Driving Licence.

Autism awareness certification.

Experience working with complex needs.
