We are seeking a reliable and caring Personal Assistant to support a 7-year-old girl who is non-verbal and uses a disability buggy. This role is ideal for someone who is enthusiastic about providing support to children with additional needs, is kind-hearted, and enjoys being outdoors.

About the Role:

As her Personal Assistant, you will be helping her explore the world around her by assisting with various activities and supporting her day-to-day needs. She enjoys outdoor activities, playing with noisy toys, listening to music, and having fun on swings. You will be supporting her in a range of activities such as going for walks and trips to the park. This is an active role that will require patience, attention, and a positive attitude.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Personal care: Assist with her toileting needs, including nappy changes.
  • Activity support: Accompany her on walks, trips to the park, and other outdoor activities.
  • Encouragement and interaction: Provide a supportive and nurturing environment, helping her explore and enjoy her surroundings.

About You:

  • You are a female Personal Assistant.
  • You are kind, compassionate, and have a positive approach to working with children.
  • You have experience (or are willing to learn) in providing support for a child with additional needs.
  • You are active and enjoy being outdoors.
  • You are comfortable with assisting with personal care tasks, including changing nappies when necessary.

Requirements:

  • Experience (preferred) in supporting children with disabilities, including knowledge of PEG feeding (training will be provided and funded by the employer).
  • Moving and Handling (training will be provided and fully funded by the employer).
  • Enhanced DBS check (fully funded by the employer).
  • A willingness to build a trusting relationship with the child and support her emotional and physical needs.

Working Hours:

  • Term Time: 3 hours per week, between 11am-5pm (Saturdays preferred)
  • School Holidays: 6 hours per week, between 11am-5pm (flexible days)
