About us / The Family
We are recruiting on behalf of a warm, caring family in the Workington area who are looking for dedicated, compassionate, and reliable Personal Assistants to support their 3‑year‑old son. He lives with cerebral palsy and has additional complex health needs. This role is an opportunity to be part of a close‑knit, nurturing team, helping him thrive at home and in the local community.

What the Role Involves

You will:

  • Provide personal care and daily living support (e.g. hygiene, dressing, feeding)
  • Facilitate interactive, developmental activities, outings and local walks
  • Meet social and emotional needs; encourage engagement with the surrounding world
  • Carry out clinical care using specialist medical equipment (full training provided)
  • Assist with mobility, positioning, transfers, and physical support

Shifts & Flexibility

Support is required 24/7, so a range of shift patterns are needed to meet the child’s needs:

  • 24‑hour shifts (various times)
  • 24‑hour waking night shifts
  • Part‑time / zero‑hours / bank contracts also available

What We’re Looking For

You should have:

  • A kind, patient, and caring nature, with a genuine passion for supporting a child with complex needs
  • The willingness to learn and follow clinical procedures and training
  • A Full UK driving licence (desirable, but not essential)
  • Previous experience in care is beneficial but not essential — full training and support will be given by the family

Pay & Benefits

  • £13.86 per hour for daytime shifts
  • £12.72 per hour for waking nights (10pm-6am)
  • Double time pay for bank holidays
