We are looking for a kind, patient and reliable Personal Assistant to support a 11-year-old boy in Cockermouth who has autism, anxiety and demand avoidance. The ideal person will take time to build a trusting relationship, offering reassurance and gentle encouragement to help him feel comfortable and confident. The role involves supporting the child both at home and out in the community, engaging in fun and structured activities led by the child’s interests. These may include arts and crafts, cinema trips, Lego, board and video games, crazy golf and baking. The Personal Assistant will help the child manage anxiety, promote positive interactions and ensure they feel in control of activities and routines — particularly around planning and deciding end times.

Working Hours

  • 4 hours (term time)
  • 6 hours (holidays)
  • Monday-Sunday

  • Enhanced DBS Check (funded by the employer)
  • Driving licence and access to their own vehicle (essential)
