We are looking for a kind, patient and reliable Personal Assistant to provide dedicated support to a 7-year-old girl with autism, sensory processing disorder, severe learning disability, pica and Avoidant Restrictive Food Intake Disorder (ARFID). 

The role involves providing personal care, behavioural and physical support, and helping her communicate using non-verbal methods. 

You will support her to safely engage in activities she enjoys, such as trampolining, messy play and going on the swings, helping to create a fun, structured and supportive environment. 

This position requires someone who is calm, understanding and attentive, with experience supporting children with additional needs and the ability to promote her safety, wellbeing and development during the 4 hours of support provided during school holidays.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide support with personal care
  • Offer calm and patient behavioural support
  • Provide appropriate physical support
  • Support the child with non-verbal communication using proloquo2go
  • Support and supervise the child while engaging in trampolining
  • Facilitate messy play activities
  • Accompany and support the child during outdoor play, including using the swings
