Work Hours: One evening per week: around 4:30pm – 6:30pm & School holidays: up to 4 hours per week (can be split across two days)

A friendly family in Carlisle is looking for a kind, reliable Personal Assistant to help support the care of their 5-year-old twins with additional needs, including a physical disability and some developmental delay.
The twins are fun, energetic, sociable boys who enjoy being busy and getting out and about. Their main support needs relate to mobility—they can walk with assistance but require close supervision and one-to-one support outside the home.

About the Role:
We are looking for someone who is:
- Friendly, fun and energetic
- Patient with a good sense of humour
- Proactive and able to use their initiative
- Physically fit and confident supporting children with mobility needs
Duties may include:
- Playing with the children at home and in the garden
- Supporting them with walking and mobility
- Helping with eating and self-care
- Assisting with toileting, bathing and dressing
- Supporting access to community activities and outings
- Helping children get in and out of the car
- Administering medication and applying creams (as required)
- Light tidying related to the children and helping with children’s laundry
Initially, another adult will always be present, but as the assistant becomes familiar with the role, there may occasionally be times when they support the boys independently for short periods.
Hours
The family can be flexible, but ideally require:
- One evening per week: around 4:30pm – 6:30pm
- School holidays: up to 4 hours per week (can be split across two days)
Holiday hours would mainly involve supporting the parents to access community activities safely, such as parks, soft play, cafes, walks and events.
Evening hours would include helping with mealtimes, bath time and bedtime routines.
Requirements:
- Enhanced DBS check required (applicants registered with the DBS Update Service are preferred).
Rate of pay:
£14.00 per hour
