We are seeking a confident, caring, and reliable Personal Assistant (PA) to provide respite activities for our 6-year-old daughter, who has Autism, learning disabilities, and is non-verbal.

Our daughter is happiest exploring outdoors – she loves walks, trips to the park, and engaging in activities away from busy indoor environments.

Creativity and thinking outside the box will be important to help her enjoy and explore the world around her.

Role responsibilities include:

  • Supporting her hobbies and outdoor activities (e.g. walks, play in the park).
  • Assisting with personal care and toileting needs.
  • Building a trusting relationship by first working alongside mum, before gradually taking sole charge once a bond has been established.

Hours:

During term time, there are 4 hours per week available which will be worked at weekends.

During the school holidays, there are 10 hours available and can be worked any day of the week or split over a couple of days.

These hours can be worked by one PA, or a job share would be considered for 2 PAs.

Additional hours may be available, to be discussed during the application process.

Requirements:

  • Full UK driving licence and access to own car with appropriate business insurance.
  • Enhanced DBS check required (fully funded by employer). Applicants with a current DBS on the update service will be at an advantage.
  • Experience in childcare is essential – this could either be through employment or life skills (e.g. having your own children)
  • Experience supporting children with special educational needs is desirable.
  • Above all, we are looking for someone kind, patient, and dependable and willing to engage in outdoor activities throughout the year.

Terms & Benefits:

  • Fully employed position
  • £15.80 per hour
  • Holiday entitlement
  • Option to join a pension scheme

If you are passionate about supporting children, have the right experience, and would like to make a positive difference in our daughter’s life, we would love to hear from you.
