Seeking personal assistant for 10-year-old child with complex medical needs in Barrow in Furness.

Child's needs include cerebral palsy, vision impairment, global developmental delay, and nonverbal.

Child is a happy, chilled child with no behavioural difficulties but a lot of complex positional and feeding needs.

Full paid training given.

Must hold driving licence and be confident to drive a WAV.

Must be willing and able to manual handling/position changes. 

Must be able and willing to push wheelchair on walks etc.

Duties will include preparing pureed meals and spoon feeding.

Child is awaiting a peg so will also include feeding via peg.

Personal care, nappy changes, and dressing.

Aiding with baths.

Postural management and positional changes using different equipment including H frame hoist and Standing frame.

Following a physio plan.

Following a chest physio plan.

Doing activities with child.

Taking for days out in WAV.

Potentially dropping off/collecting child to/from school.

Seeking someone with an enthusiastic patient and gentle attitude who is intuitive.

Ideally seeking someone a Tuesday and Thursday evening the rest of the hours during the week can be flexible. Must be willing to commit to the full 16 hours most weeks this can be figured out to suit as long as applicant can do a minimum of one Tuesday or Thursday evening each week both evenings would be a bonus. And a minimum of two shifts per month on weekends. Days/lengths of weekend shifts can be discussed.

Applicant must undergo full DBS check – at no cost to them.

Experience in care desirable but not essential.
