This role is centred around encouragement, companionship, and practical support — with the ultimate aim of helping the individual achieve their personal goals.

About the Role

This is a rewarding and varied role that involves supporting someone with autism in their day-to-day life, particularly by helping them engage in activities they enjoy, such as going to the gym and socialising outdoors. You will be expected to:

  • Encourage and support the individual with daily activities
  • Promote and maintain a healthy, independent lifestyle
  • Offer companionship and understanding through good communication and active listening
  • Work independently while always respecting the needs and preferences of the individual
  • Provide reassurance, encouragement, and prompts where necessary

  • Prompting and reminding
  • Confidence building
  • Supporting emotional wellbeing
  • Managing challenging behaviour calmly and sensitively

Who We’re Looking For

We’re seeking someone who:

  • Is in generally good health and able to support an active lifestyle

You do not need to be physically strong to do this job well — what matters most is your attitude, empathy, and ability to build trust.
