Personal care assistant required to assist a young man with spinal cord injury to do normal daily tasks within the family home.

Average 17 hours p/w available on a rolling rota. The role will include:

  • Personal care,
  • Preparation of food and drinks
  • Assistance with eating and drinking
  • Some household cleaning tasks
  • Moving and handling including hoisting and regular basic physio exercises.

Hours

Contracted to 17 hours per week and you will receive 5.6 weeks leave pro rata. There will be the opportunity for a few additional hours.

The current rota in place is on a three weeks rolling rota which consists of:

Week 1: Mon & Wed 8am-4pm

Week 2: Tues & Thurs 8am-4pm and Fri 8am-11am

Week 3 is Sat & Sun 8am-4pm

A Full UK Driving licence with use of own car to get to work would be an advantage, although there is a regular bus service to and from Embleton.

The ideal candidate will be flexible and able to cover extra shifts across the 7 days support as needed and would also be willing to cover for annual leave and sickness.

The successful candidate will be subject to a DBS and clearance which will be paid for by the employer.

Full clinical training and moving and handling is mandatory and will be arranged by the employer.
