What is the Lancashire Learning Disability Partnership Board?

The Lancashire Learning Disability Partnership Board is a platform for this collective, collaborative work to improve the lives and opportunities of people with a learning disability in the county.

The Board has representatives from:

  • Statutory organisations, responsible for both universal and specialist services accessed by people with a learning disability
  • Community organisations, promoting citizenship
  • People with lived experience of a learning disability and their family or carers

The Lancashire Learning Disability Partnership Board covers all of Lancashire, apart from Blackpool and Blackburn with Darwen. The Board meets 6 times a year at County Hall in Preston. One of these meetings will take the form of a Learning Disability Conference.

Our vision is to bring impactful, meaningful, change!

Health Subgroup

As part of the Lancashire Learning Disability Partnership Board we have 2 subgroups which meet every 2 months.

  • Health - this brings together health representatives, providers, family carers and self-advocates to address the health inequalities people with a learning disability face. They work to improve services so that people with a learning disability can live longer healthier lives.

Friends and relationships Subgroup

As part of Lancashire Learning Disability Partnership Board we have 2 subgroups which meet every 2 months:

  • Friends and Relationships - we believe that people with a learning disability have the right to develop friendships and loving relationships. The work of this group aims to make services accessible, promote sexual self-advocacy and facilitate learning so that people are clear about what healthy, safe relationships look like.

Stronger Together Awards

The Stronger Together Awards event is like no other in Lancashire.

Over 120 guests from across the county's public, private and third sector at Barton Manor Hotel on the 24th September to celebrate the people who help make our community stronger.

These awards recognise that lasting change happens when voices are heard, partnerships are valued, and inclusion is at the heart of everything we do.

We are looking to work alongside a team of sponsors who share our values and with whom we can work collaboratively to ensure the event is a huge success. You can read our Sponsorship Proposal below.
