Be Screening Aware

This is a co-produced course developed in partnership with experts by experience and clinical specialists to deliver accessible awareness sessions on the five national adult screening programmes. 

You will learn about:

  • Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm (AAA) Screening
  • Bowel cancer Screening
  • Breast Screening
  • Cervical Screening
  • Diabetic Eye Screening
The course takes 3 hours but can be split into two shorter sessions if needed. 

What is screening?

Screening is a test that's offered to people to find out if they are at a bigger risk of a disease or health condition. It's use is to:

  • Detect problems early, often before a person feels unwell
  • To start treatment or lifestyle changes sooner, when they are most effective
  • To reduce the risk of serious illness.
