Welcome to our July Newsletter!

This month we held an Authentically ADHD event.
July was a month to reflect on the year we’ve had. From events to our projects, we looked back on what we’ve been up to with our annual report.
We teamed up with Sellafield’s S.L A.D.D-ers group to bring you Authentically ADHD, an event full of advice and lived experience stories, with a focus on empowering local people living and working with ADHD.
Chloe and Suzannah visited a wonderful exhibition from Prism Arts at Tullie.
Plus, Suzannah reflects on her first year at Healthwatch Cumberland.
Empowering local people with Authentically ADHD

We teamed up with Sellafield to bring you Authentically ADHD.
On Wednesday 23rd July, we held an ADHD support and awareness event at the United Reformed Church in Whitehaven.
The event included members from local organisations who were there to provide support and information to local people with ADHD, to help empower them and signpost them to services that can offer guidance on living and working with ADHD.
A Q&A session led by the Sellafield S.L A.D.D-ers included personal stories, and advice from lived exeprience of living with ADHD.
From key indicators of ADHD, diagnosis and waiting lists to what happens after you get diagnosed, there was lots of information available.

Spotlight on: Suzannah's first year at HWC

A year has flown by since Suzannah started working at HWC.
Suzannah has worked as a Communications and Administration Coordinator for Healthwatch Cumberland for a year now, and we wanted to know how she feels about her experience working with us so far.
Suzannah reflects on her favourite memories, what challenges she has overcome, and what she has learnt.
Congratulations to Suzannah for her first year!
You can read all about her thoughts in our article.
How are you today, Dad?

Do you have a paternal experience you’d like to share with us?
We want to know all about the experience of dads when they became a parent.
Having a child can be traumatic, from changes in relationships to difficult births and miscarriage. Often, there is little support available to dads during this time as the focus is mostly on the mother.
We want to know, how are you today, Dad?
If you feel ready to share your story, you can fill in our survey, or reach out to us by emailing: info@healthwatchcumberland and we’ll be in touch.
