Here at People First we're incredibly excited to be working on a new project on Oxford Street in Workington. We are transforming this building into a vibrant, welcoming community space, but can't do it alone. To make this space truly meaningful we need the expertise, insight and voices of the people who know Workington the best: you.
Building on strengths, and not duplicating effort
Workington is already home to a brilliant network of organisations, charities, grassroots community groups, and local services making a positive difference every single day. You understand the heartbeat of the town, the quiet successes happening in your community, and the unique challenges Workington residents face. Our goal for the Oxford Street space is simple, we want to compliment, not complicate.
We're not looking at duplicating the fantastic services that already exist. Instead we want to learn from your experiences. We want to understand:
- What works brilliantly right now, and what success stories can we support and celebrate.
- Where are the gaps in support for the people of Workington?
- What are the challenges facing Workington, and how can a physical space adapt to meet them?
By listening to a wide range of voices, we can collectively map out Workington's unique strengths and opportunities for collaboration.
