Famous for its inclusive atmosphere, unbeatable on-route entertainment, and warm Geordie welcome, not to mention the millions raised each year for worthy causes, Great North Run magic can be hard to understand – until you’ve experienced it for yourself on the Newcastle to South Shields route.
This year we have two friends and colleagues who have decided to run the Great North Run in aid of People First. Hannah Cundall and Rebecca Routledge from The Cumberland have chosen to fundraise for us this year.
Hannah Cundall, Customer Acquisition & Content Manager said;
“We’re really looking forward to joining the team on race day, we’ve had fantastic support in the lead-up to the big day. Running for such an amazing cause is motivation enough to get those extra steps in and push ourselves to do our best in training.
We can’t wait for the 10th September and joining the amazing runners for what I’m sure will be an incredible day.”
The Great North Run is the World’s biggest and best half marathon with 57,000 runners participating every year, with almost £25 million being raised for good causes. This year, People First is lucky enough to be a part of the action and has 12 runners taking part, raising lots of funds and awareness in aid of us.
Natalie Bingham, Fundraising Officer said;
“We are absolutely delighted to be involved with the Great North Run again this year. To have another team of runners out there supporting us is amazing! We really can’t thank everybody enough for their support and dedication.
The Great North Run is an event like no other and I’m sure Hannah, Rebecca, and the rest of our runners will have a fantastic time.
Good luck from everybody at People First, we’re all rooting for you!”
