Did you know 14th-20th November was Baby Week?
Baby Week is an annual week that celebrates services that support young children and their parents.
On Sunday, 16th November, Clandon went along to the launch of DadPad at the newly opened Westfield Family Hub in Workington. The ‘Dads and Babies event’ was full of parenting information for dads from Maternity Voices, Cumbria Coastal School, and Cumberland Council.
Clandon was there to find out more about DadPad, and to let people know about our Paternal Wellbeing project, ‘How are you today, Dad?’ This project focuses on the experiences of dads when they became a parent, and navigated family changes, and what support they would have liked to receive. DadPad
DadPad is a new essential guide, created in partnership with the NHS, for dads. The guide provides advice on practical skills and knowledge to help dads give their babies the best start in life.
Some of the topics it covers include first aid, crying, feeding, sleeping, changing nappies, getting to know your baby and looking after yourself and your partner.
The DadPad guide is available to buy for £12, and an illustrated quick read version is also available.
If you are a new dad or know someone who is, why not take a look at DadPad?
