Healthwatch’s Community Forum goes from strength to strength, bringing together members of the public, the voluntary, community, faith and social enterprise sector, councillors, local NHS staff, and representatives of north Cumbrian hospital trusts and the Integrated Care Board.
At last month’s forum, in Penrith we heard from Akila Knight of North Cumbria Integrated Care’s (NCIC) Wellbeing Service, on the service’s work in the community; David Morris, Cumbria Sexual Health Outreach Worker on STIs and contraception; updates from North East North Cumbria Integrated Care Board (NENC ICB) and NHS trusts; update from Healthwatch Westmorland and Furness on their Adult Autism Pathways, and dentistry projects.
Twenty-three people joined us, and presenters had lots of engagement from the room and from those joining us online. Issues raised by guests and responses from speakers will shape topics covered in our next forums.
Speakers on May 31st include:
• New Right Care, Right Person framework to support people who are in mental health crisis from Cumbria Police.
• Updates on mental health; ADHD referrals; autism waiting lists from Cumbria North Tyne and Wear NHS Cumbria, Northumberland, Tyne and Wear NHS Foundation Trust.
• Cumbria Health (formerly CHoC) service update.
• Update from North East North Cumbria Integrated Care Board.
• Chloe Wallace, Senior Engagement Officer, Healthwatch Cumberland on their upcoming event with Woman Up!, and an update on their women’s health project.
