Healthwatch Cumberland's September news

Healthwatch team at Carlisle Pride 2024

Did you see the Healthwatch team at Carlisle Pride?

September was another busy month at Healthwatch Cumberland!

Below, you can find out what we have been up to.

We had a great time at Carlisle Pride!

Did you see us at Carlisle Pride?

Carlisle Pride 2024: Healthwatch went along to Pride to hear all about your recent experiences with health and social care and to let you know about our projects.

The Healthwatch team had lots of fun painting people's faces with flags and glitter and chatting about the work that we do. We are currently doing two projects - 'Ageing Well' and 'Mental Health in Menopause' and it was great to tell people all about them.

We were there to listen to your concerns and experiences with health and social care services, and loved hearing lots of your feedback. You can read more about our experience at Pride by clicking 'Find out more' below.

It was lovely to see so much diversity in Carlisle. Pride is so important in allowing everyone to feel welcome and understood. We can't wait to go again next year!

If you didn't manage to go to Pride but still want to share your thoughts, you can get in touch with us via our Feedback Centre, or by emailing: [email protected]

Find out more about what we got up to at Pride here.

Ageing Well

Ageing Well

We have just started our 'Ageing Well' project, where we will be asking you what care provision and support you would like to see as you age.

Healthwatch will be touring around Cumberland visiting some local areas to ask your opinions.

You can also fill in a survey online with your thoughts here.

Mental Health in Menopause

Mental Health in Menopause

Through our women's health project, 'Mental Health in Menopause', we hope to eliminate confusion, and get people comfortable talking about menopause.

We have lots of events planned for upcoming months, including a HRTea Party on 18th October, 3:30pm-5pm at the People First Conference Centre, Carlisle - tickets to come soon!

Menopause expert, Lynsey Eland will be busting myths across our social media and answering your questions. If there's something you want to know about menopause, fill in our survey here.
