People First are delighted to announce that we are once again involved with this year’s Premier Electrical Carlisle Half Marathon.
The Premier Electrical Carlisle Half Marathon & 10K will take place again on Sunday March 12th 2023. This unique innovative event will start and finish at Brunton Park Football Stadium, the home of Carlisle United.
Natalie Bingham, Fundraising Officer said;
“We’re absolutely thrilled to be a part of the Carlisle Half Marathon again. It’s a fantastic local event and it’s great to see it so well supported with runners from across the North.
At People First we support people with learning difficulties to live their best possible lives. Being one of this year’s official charity partners will hopefully enable us to raise some much-needed awareness and funds, allowing us to reach out to more people who need our support.”
The course will see runners start from the main straight at the back of the East Stand and run into Rickerby Park before heading to Linstock & Crosby on Eden before turning back on what will be an out and back route. Final measurement and course announcement will take place in the spring.
The day will also consist of a 10k to enable different levels of fitness to take part in what is sure to be a brilliant event.
Joint Event Directors, Ian Milburn & Mike James said:
“We are delighted to be offering an event like this for local charities to raise much needed funds for. Our event is now well established on the running calendar and we very much try to put the runners first just like PF put the People First.
Our relationship with People First is going from strength to strength and long may that continue. We hope that many runners choose to run and raise for People First on March 12th.”
As part of our partnership with the Premier Electrical Carlisle Half Marathon, Ian and Mike are very kindly gifting us a number of 50% off entry codes. In return, we ask that our runners who take advantage of this code commit to raise £50 for People First. 50 for 50!
Claire Reid who took part in our 50 for 50 campaign last year encourages other runners to consider supporting People First. She said;
“Last year I took part in the Carlisle Half Marathon to support People First. From the moment I signed up, I felt the encouragement from People First to have a positive lead up to the day and enjoy the event itself.
The atmosphere was great and we had photos pre and post-race with People First which made me feel it was a team effort!”
