On the 11th September 2022 People First was represented by a team of runners at the world-famous Great North Run.
Our team of 12, a mix of experienced runners and novices alike, signed up to run in aid of us with the aim of raising much-needed funds and awareness.
We recently invited our runners to the People First Conference Centre for coffee and cake to say thank you for all of their efforts and to announce the final amount of money raised. Between them all, they have managed to raise over £4,152!
Natalie Bingham, Fundraising Officer said;
“We are absolutely over the moon with the amount of money raised from this year’s Great North Run! Our team of runners have been amazing and we hope they are incredibly proud of their achievements, as we certainly are.
It’s been lovely to see everybody again and presenting them with a homemade cake, created by one of our learners, is just our little way of saying thank you.
Having never been involved with this event before we didn’t quite know what to expect but the whole event from start to finish was fantastic and we couldn’t have asked for a better team of fundraisers. A huge thank you to all of our runners and their generous friends, family and work colleagues who all contributed to raising this wonderful amount of money.
All of the funds raised will go towards supporting people with learning difficulties when they need it the most, ensuring they live their lives the way they want to.”
