August brought us many happy memories, one of these being Borderway Finance Limited visiting us at the Conference Centre to celebrate their success at this year’s Keswick Three Peaks Challenge. On Saturday 9th July, People First had a team of hikers from Borderway Finance Limited taking part in our Keswick Three Peaks event.
The team all trained tirelessly in the run-up to the event. They used it as an opportunity to connect as a team and went out on lots of long group walks after work, to prepare for the big day. Not only did they want to bond as a team, but they also wanted to support a worthwhile charity at the same time, kindly choosing to support People First.
Natalie Bingham Fundraising Officer at People First said;
“We are absolutely blown away by the level of passion and dedication that the team have shown throughout this challenge. This is the first event of this kind for us, and it has been wonderful to see the team from Borderway Finance Limited really get behind it, to raise funds and awareness for the work we do here at People First. We wanted to show our gratitude and thanks in a unique way and what better way than celebrating over tea and cake! They are true fundraising heroes.”
Our learners at the Conference Centre greeted our guests and took their drinks orders in the Riverbank Kitchen. One of our learners, Marcus, helped create a homemade ‘thank you’ cake that was made especially for our fundraising heroes and was presented to them. Some of our learners then helped to cut the cake that was then served. It tasted delicious and was a real treat for our guests. Our way of saying thank you.
It was fantastic to see everybody again and we cannot wait to see what we manage to achieve together in the future.
